Empty Room

After two years of being a constant feature at home, my son is finally on campus. The photograph here is the empty space. The bed, the desk… the desk was his world with all the connected gadgets. The laptop plus the extra monitor (I could never figure out why two screens!), the stand for his headset and many other gadgets. All that has gone with him to now be part of his hostel room.

The door is open (hardly ever it would be when he was around). No one to discuss all things tech and various serials on different OTTs that him and me used to watch together.

No more yelling at him to stop playing and focus on studies.

But am glad he is out of the house and on campus. The pandemic took away two years of his life. The real life. Am sure he will make up for it.
